Hi

I have a A3 1.8T sport and am thinking of making some suspension modifications to improve the handling. Can anyone make any suggestions as to what will provide the best overall setup without going into silly money??

Hope you can help

best overall improvement will be uprated anti-roll bars and setting the geometry for between £200 and £500. geometry adjustments are a bit thin on the ground, but ideally get some negative camber at the front, with a little bit of toe out. searching the VAG bins should find thicker bars that are about £40 to £70 plus fitting or there are aftermarket ones such neuspeed etc

you can get negative camber by either slotting the ball joint holes at the bottom, or slotting the strut mounts at the top in the wing - adding a few mm at each end and having a washer welded back to hold the correct place will make a big improvement, but requires a visit to someone who knows what they are doing, with a good computer geometry kit.

this will give you more benefits that lowered springs and uprated dampers - these will help later if you want to spend another £500.
