what spring colour and use shims or not?

Hi all i have recently bought a forge 008 DV, i have a s3 bam on a revo stage 1 map and want to know what colour spring to use and whether i need to use shims or not.

I have done a search on here and it looks like the yellow spring should be used but do i need to use the shims too on a stage 1 revo map?
