What internals can you improve a k04 with before you need to machine it?

Inspired by Beachbuggy's thread I'm trying to see if its worth my while building a basic hybrid, having just spent a fortune on various toys and MOT i can't afford to get one built for me, I also like a project to keep me away from the wife! So my plan is to get a serviceable K04 and try and improve it without the need for machineing, to keep costs down, and theres not exactly loads of specialists in Devon lol
So my question is what are the largest compressor/turbine combination that can fit in a standard k04 without machineing? Or indeed is it going to be worth it?
Anything built will obviously be balanced by someone that knows what they are doing, not me!

Largest internals in a k04 without machining are the k04 internals! Kinda like asking how much water can you fit into a 1 litre bucket!

Lol, I miss read another thread then, in that case it'll be machine shop and try and do it properly. Back to reading your old thread for part numbers...Just done the whole fmic thread and my eyes hurt so if you feel like making any suggestions here it'd be appreciated ...
