What have you done today?

I topped my power steering fluid up as it was looking a little low and delivered the rescued rabbit to its new owner! The car is desperate for a clean so hopefully get that done on the weekend! Mot is up on the 15th of April so might pop get that sorted next week if it behaves I'll treat it to a full service!

Before and after of me putting on my LCR splitter

Just got to borrow the missus hair drier to get the bends by the wheel arch right

Bit more tinkering done.....

Inlet manifold and throttle body gaskets changed and made sure all inlets underneath are properly blocked off.

Changed all hose clips I can find in the bay to proper hi grip and made sure all or on well and done up uber tight (no boost leaks please)

Once my injectors return from servicing I will get it all put back together to heat cycle it and then recheck the hose clips before refitting bumper etc.

Track rod ends changed on Saturday and front tracking...just until i get my adjustable arms on the rear and get 4 wheel alignment.

Split a CV boot though! Ive never had this before...when removing the track rod end, the strut would flick round to maximum lock due to the force the arb is putting on the strut via the drop link. Its ok dead forward, but as soon as you start to rotate the strut the arb forces it all the way round! Is this normal?!

day off today decided to fix my rear wiper motor .pulled it all apart cleaned it up, repacked with grease put it all back together bingo one working wiper motor even went and got a new blade:yes:

arb bushes and drop links, and powerflex dogbone bush turned up in post ready for the weekend

and

quit my crappy job and got a job doing something i really enjoy doing

Yes mine did this. I think it's just the tension on the drop link.

I drove my S3 off the ramp this evening after her being there for over 6 months.... excited much :D

On the way home from work the brake light bulb warning light came on.

Checked when I got home and the drivers side is not working :(

Switched the bulbs over and it still didn't work- so guess I'll be taking the rear light out tomorrow to check on the connections

Hopefully it's just an easy fix- but nothings ever easy with these cars and there's such little space to play about with them!

Swapped my sump over,
Made a school boy error of snapping the ball end of my key in one of the gearbox side hidden screws lol!

Time to fill up this morning and hope there's no leaks...

Win win win for me today :)

Managed to get the last turbo to manifold bolt out that's been giving me grief over the past week or so. Old gasket came out in 2 pieces so I think I know why it was leaking lol.

Injectors are back from being serviced too and according to the report should be working much better now. so that's all back together so might give it quick run to warm it all up later and then hopefully get it all buttoned up over the weekend.

Received the 550cc injectors :)

Negative side.... My power steering is groaning like crazy, even when not steering. Losing fluid to.. Emptying the reservoir in a few days :-(

Lots and lots of cleaning in preparation for Yorkshire & Humberside meet at Cleandetail in Doncaster on Sunday.
Here's the obligatory pictures..

Bumper and wheels back on and started her up and all seems good :)

Filled up with V-power and now a quick wash and job is done for now

Replaced hazard switch and tip,

Had a wee play with the turbo shaft .... no play in out up or down..at least somethings going well! Touch wood.

Seems to be alot of washing going on :) I have done the same, only it was a couple days ago but took a few pictures whilst I was out today.

Wrapped my chrome grille surround with matte black vinyl today. Certainly wasn't the easiest of tasks i've ever done on a car, however it seems to have turned out okay and also gave the car a clean whilst i was at it!

Next is a full service booked in two weeks time - would do it myself but need the stamp in the book! Will be doing the haldex service myself though. Also, new number plates now I have fitted my surrounds as per the photos.

Had a day doing things for my car today instead of other peoples! Picked up a full leather interior from a 3door mk4 golf, to match the door cards i aquired months ago! Going back to the golf on monday to finish ripping out the complete wiring harness for the heated seats!

Second coat of wax went on today, polished the glass, cleaned all the plastics, touched my wheels up.
Bring on tomorrow's meet :arco:

gave mine the once over after its tweaking session over the last week or so and all still seems good and running well.

Adjusted my headlights as they were a little out after fixing the new headlight clips and re-fitting back into the car.

Had to get the welder out, lost my anti theft bolt for my rims, or whatever its called in english. 15 tries later and 2 of the rims are off. Done for the day.

Then to make matters worse, i broke the spring thingy that makes the brake caliper hold the pads tight. Damn thing was rusted in place and snapped right off, both top and bottom. ****ing Denmark and our salty roads. Need to get a new one, dont think its too good for the pads or disc in the long run.

Theres only about 15 types. .. just count the splines and google it for part number. Picked mine up for £10 delivered when I lost it.

For future reference of course ;)

So I managed to sort my bulb out - so that's 1 less warning sign bleeping at me :)
Although many scratches/cuts were produced due to the tightest of the rear back drivers side bulb holder!

Managed to take my exhaust up to an exhaust specialist this morning and try and fathom out if/where it is blowing as I have got a Reltenless gasket still in with my DP/Sports cat system that is over a year old now.

Turns out it's not blowing at all and is possibly down to my cat back being on the car from original (14 years old and nearly 200k miles. So a Milltek non resonated cat-back is greatly needed - all donations will be gladly received :beerchug:
