Absolutely not! Hatch backs without a wiper look ****. Plus it has a purpose.

The only purpose my A3 badge had was to snag my wash mitt and conceal dirt in the crevises.

The wiper isn't symmetrical though mate!!

I believe so Mike, looking underneath mine there is a hole which I think is screwdriver access to a jubilee clip but I can't get square underneath to see it properly. Here is the replacement part that I found :-

You could always try the paint that you get for log burners/multi fuel stoves, that is matt black!

No mate luckily - just doing a bit of a recky - it's sure to be the inner pipes that go first so just looking into the options rather than going aftermarket.

Also investigating a replacement outer seat bolster and higher density foam rather than the complete lower cover - not for today but looking to keep the car some time and fix some of the long term wear issues. Got some auto industry work mates helping me out so I may well be the gineau pig.
