    It stands for Volkswagenwerk Aktiengesellschaft
    Sort of like Volkswagen PLC :)
    Not so sure that they call themselves that anymore though, I think it is just Volkswagen group

    Porsche are major shareholders in VAG...not just VW.

    I think they already own as much as they can to keep the companies independant...any more I believe is seen as a merger...and Porsche don't want that!

    Yep, AG is just the German equivalent of PLC - showing that the firm is a shareholder owned organisation.
