Honestly have no idea how much i paid last october think it was around the £800 mark fully comp 12k per year me and wife i was 24 so was she, £250excess plus a voluntary excess of £250 also all the young lads will have compulsary and voluntary excess to pay!!! Also car is garaged at home am parked in a locked carpark during day!
My postcode is classed as E on the risk scale but the actual local crime statistics state my area as being pretty good when it comes to car crime really baffles me it really does

I started this thread back in April just 2 weeks before I got my brand new S3.

I am 30 with 5 years no claims, on the S3 I was paying £700 but that didn't last long as I traded it in for a new RS3 and wait for it.... I now pay £620 on that!

Yes, the RS3 is cheaper to insure than the S3!

Did I read somewhere that's cos the RS3 is a new car, with no crash history for insurers to go off. And they base the premium off cars of comparable cost\prestige\whatever and at the moment it's coming out as an insurance bargain!

Suspect so, there's hardly any around so there's less to get crash statistics to go by, remember getting insurance on a Noble M12 was cheaper than my old A3 2.0T because of lack of stats… just a shame about the service costs ;)
