i've just purchased an a6 quattro avant 1999 with the bose upgrade.
i want to put my dvd head unit jvc-avx1 as need the ability to play mp3s and like that head unit and want to add my 12" jl sub too.
i've heard and read incompatabilities with changing the head unit on the bose upgrade and keeping all existing amps and speakers which is a shame.
i understand the bose system includes 2 ohm component speakers so have ruled out using any of the head unit power like i have in the past. is it worth getting a small 2 ohm stable 4 channel amp to run the door speakers from or am i best off replacing the door speakers with some other components? are these 5.25" or 6.5"? are they good quality and worth building a system around?
how many speakers come with the bose system as I've heard there's more than whats in the 4 mids and tweets in the doors and the small sub at the rear.
if i'm best off pulling the whole lot out and starting a fresh where is everything?
