    Hi lads,

a mate got his tyres changed on his S3, however when they wheels were put back on the mechanic realised there is alot of play in both front wheels. Top to bottom they are ok but there is a lot of side to side movement.

What could this be?there is a worn track rod end on the passenger side, but that cant be the problem. Could it possibly be the steering rack? As sometimes when turning he is getting a clunk sound

Yeah well the passenger track rod is pretty knackered, but wouldnt that cause it to vibrate?

theres an adjustment on the rear of the rack to loose the play could be that or could also be the track rod it self

No its not always either, not on full lock specifically but when turning left, im thinking the track rod end on the passenger side is worn, it could possible be that?
