hi, just wondering if anyone can shed some light on my problem?

i am getting vibration (which can be felt through the whole car) when accelerating in 4th, 5th and 6th at around the 75mph mark and beyond that. As soonas i take foot off accelerator it stops but then as soon as i press again its back! :banghead:

could it be anything to do with wheel alignment or is there more to it?:ermm:

Possible duel mass flywheel problems? If it was wheel balance issue it would do it all the time not just on accelerating.

I just had the same and its the wheel balance, i had mine after changing a tyre and it was at 80+. But it was when i don't touch the gas, as soon as i accelerate it would stop, balancing fixed it though

alignment and balancing are different, but both are very easy to do, my friends at the garage done both in about 10 minutes and course for free, very easy to sort out so dont worry bout it

how much would it cost to get both done, also where is best place to get it done?

i have just been for a little test drive to try and figure out when it occurs. i suppose it does occur pretty much all of the time and only becomes really noticeable at higher speeds (if that makes sense).

Well audi charge the earth tbh, most independents charge small amounts in comparison, its the adjustments for alignment that are the bitch cost, balancing is very cheap & do this 1st, but sounds like its one of either or both, dual mass I doubt, but try those 2 things 1st as 99% time its these.

I've got exactly the same issue, mine is normally 5th and 6th gears, at just above 2000rpms (70mph). It gets very annoying, but the vibrations go away if I do higher speed.

I'm going to get the balancing and alignment done too now. :ermm:

That's exactly what my guy said at the garage, its very minimal al low speeds and at very high, so definitely balancing
