just wondering, ive never drove another s3 so i have nothing to compare it to, but im sure mine is slower than most, ive had it remapped, changed filter element, dv, maf sensor, fitted new hose where mine was split, oil change, optimax, just doesnt seem that quick. Thinking turbo may be the problem, so how would i know if i needed a new one.

Plus how much do they go for and how much is labour.

    Thanks dudes

As you've just PM'ed me about it, you must have VAG-COM.

Setup to log block 002, find a nice empty piece of private road where you can do a run from 2000rpm to the redline in 4th gear and log the g/s over this rev range.

Take your results, plot a graph of RPM v g/s and post it on here.

you can also log requested boost against actual boost too. That'll give you some idea about potential boost leaks and n75 issues.

Usual signs of turbo failure are cold sweats, tears, and empty bank accounts...

your best bet is to get it dyno'd. tbh, s3's really dont feel fast though...

on a less scientific note they start to whistle sounds a bit like a police siren following you around

not if you don't have the full version ;)

But if you do then block 115 for boost requested v actual and 118 for N75 Duty Cycle.

you could take the TIP pie off and see if there is excessive play in the shaft and if it spins faily free. if you had a mirror and torch you could check see if the turbine has been hitting the housing, and also check for oil inside the housing!
