    Hi Guys,

Require your advice once again. Looking for a set of 18inch alloys for my A4 1.8t Sport, Pearl Black with full S-line Kit but as usual got confused due to the variety available. I'll probably go for replicas and so far I quite like the RS6 and RS8's. I'll be opting for 235 in tyre as ive been told that they handle better than the stock 225 everyone is giving as a package. The RS8's look good on a black audi but are pretty common - any suggestions...

I qute like the look of the Audi TT cup style wheels

or the new Golf R32 rims. If I had the money though I'd have taken Damian's hand off on the BBS rims DPM had on offer. Though they'd be more expensive than replica's.

they do look nice, but with the a4 being chunky the alloy has to be chunky - if you know what I mean, thats why I dont think the new rs4 replicas do the car justice - the twin blade type.

I used to go to school with the guy who owns auto design technics in bradford (now a multi millionnaire) and h quoted me 500 for either the rs6 or rs8 with 235/40/18 with decent tyres, thats around 150 to 200 quid cheaper than anywhere else, price includes bolts, balancing, fitting etc what do you guys reckon

The RS6's are the better of the 2 in my opinion, though I think you see far more RS6 wheels now than you do the RS8.

I also like the look of S4 wheels but I've not been able to find any 18" replica's.

I think I'll stick to 18's as rubber for 19's will cost a bomb, plus with the sports suspension going over speed bumps is bad enough on 45's could you imagine what theyl be like on 35mm profile tyres. So thats the size sorted now still not sure what alloys to get. Popped down to ADT but it was closed so it will be next saturday when I make the plunge - should be able to decide by then if i go for the 6 or 8's

I also have the sports suspension and went from 17 to 19 inch alloys, there is very little difference in the ride and the bigger wheels just look so much better

I agree 19's look awesome but gonna try and be a bit sensible this time - got the day off work tmrw so gonna go alloy wheel shopping, will post some pics of the alloys on car if I buy them tmrw. You never know I might get persuaded to go with nineteens.

Saw some 19inch RS4 (9spoke) for A4, they come with Kumho 235/35 profile tyres. I can get them at a discounted price brand new, either that or the 18inch RS8's. My only concern is the ride/handling with 19's on - you guys have tried to assure me that theres not much difference but still need reassuring...

Still looking, confused as ever. One minute I want RS6's the next RS4's then shall I go for reps or wait for originals and or shall I fit 18's or 19's - didnt realise this would cause me so much headache.

Initially I wanted to get them before car went in for a detail but that didnt happen, car was detailed last weekend. Im still contemplating a set of 19inch RS4's (new shape - twin blade ones) up in Newcastle so its a matter of finding the time to drive up.

    Any suggestions

Personally I'd rather have a set of 19's as these fill the arches out nicely and look great - especially with a 40mm drop - but I'm rather tempted to get a set of these now:

They're only 18's but they look slightly different from the usual RS4/6/8's. Has anyone ever seen these on the B6 A4?

I heard the originals are better than replicas because there 30% lighter or something? As well as not corroding so easily.

Correct me if i'm wrong, please :)

Throw the spanner in the works - totally agree original of anything will be better than replicas - problem being theyre very hard to get hold off. Them alloys do look good - totally agree different to your stock rs4 and 6's. I shall enquire

    Hi mate

I was totally in the same dilemma, i've opted for the 19" RS6's & due to pick them up later today, bought the alloys new for £350.00 from a shop nearby & bought Pirelli P zeros from the for sale section, i'll shove a pic up later if i get chance & give you an indication of ride quality etc, mines a Cabriolet so kind of preparing myself for the worst -

Good luck! at least youve made the plunge, Im still sitting on the fence...
Definately looking forward to the pics and your assessment on ride

19inch RS6's will look awesome on your cab as the bulky alloy suit the shape of the car.

Ok, now on & taken for a spin.

Firstly, visually i made the right choice, they look superb & enhance the cars look, as for road use, i was expecting the worst, but i was pleasantly surprised, a bit more road noise than my 17's but i guess that's normal.
Hitting smallish bumps doesn't in all honesty feel that much different, perhaps i'm still chuffed with them to be over critical.

I'm hoping i've managed to put photos up??

Braddie the alloys look give the car a much beefier look. You've linked to a thumbnail of your pic though that's why it looks so small.

This is what you were trying to show. To be honest, I don't think it needs lowering that much, it looks OK without.

Alloys look great, congrats! thanks for the evaluation, oh your tempting me into buying 19's I agree 19's and they still dont fill the arches.

Yeah I agree quite a few people have said theres an increase in road noise apart from that theres very little difference.

Well I'll pop down to our local Alloy Wheel dealer tmrw after having break pads replaced all round and see what tickles my fancy.

McGoughs got some 19inch new shape RS4's on for sale as I said previously, just dont fancy the 3 hour road trip - thats the only thing putting me off but saying that RS6's look awesome.

Thanks for putting up a bigger pic, i may get the hang of posting pics one day.

I must admit, i thought 19's would have filled the arches slightly more, but these are a much better looking alloy than the standard 17's it came with.

As for lowering, i think for the time being i'll give my wallet some recovery time, spent way tooooooo much dosh lately.

Braddie, still happy with going for 19's. Its been a few days, whats your assessment now on the drive.

Last night went to play snooker and there was an A4 cab parked with 19 RS6's and they did look awesome. Personally reference to looks you made the right choice.

Pav, Im sitting on 19's at present and can honestly say the ride difference hasnt changed major. All I can comment on is (as said before by others) road noise a little louder and the little bumps which you can feel more but it aint neck breaking, it doesnt bother me at all. I must say it felt a little slippy when they first went on, whether that was the greasy roads near me or fact that my tyres needed wearing in becuase its soooo much better now.

As for lowering, My audi is a sport therefore has lower suspension than a standard so Currently mine is sitting standard and in my opinion dont need lowering now so Im leaving it.

You notice that mine do fill the arches pretty well mate.

Depending on what you go for and your suspension set up.
My old boy has a standard A4 and my old 16s on his look lost, his car looks like its floating but you know these old boys, Try and tell em, they wont listen.

Your choice for 18s or 19s...19s all the way in my opinion, I had same dilemma, the audi need bigger wheels to fill up the massive arch. Go for it, stop being tight!!!:icon_thumright:

Yep, i can gonestly say that both me (& more importantly) my wife are totally happy with the ride, as per my last post there is a slight increase in road noise but nothing major & in all honesty i can hardly tell of much difference in ride quality between my old 17's & my new RS6 wheels.

Hope this helps you decide, the way i looked at it was if i wasn't happy, i'd still be able to sell them on & get the 18's anyhow, so it wasn't a major decision at the end of the day....

Thanks guys for your opinion, yes they will be 19's, I too have the sports suspension so wont be lowering the car. Now its a matter of finding time to go buy some alloys. Last two weekends have been spent with car at detailers - first my car then my bro-in-laws cab.

Re alloys will most likely go for the RS6 but as mentioned in an earlier thread the new audi TT multi spoke look pretty good, theyl look awesome in 19's.

By the way its not a matter of being tight just want to make right choice

    thanks once again

What r you guys like! re alloys its a matter of watch this space now... still interested in the neww tt multi spoke wheel - think they look great. Ive enquired with a couple of companies off ebay and at this moment they only come in 18 inch but 19's will be available in a couple of weeks time.
