Legality aside, is there a case where an insurance company didn't pay out due to a HID kit?

look what's happening in America ...won't be long before it's taken up here too as we always seem to follow suit ...just don't tell smurf, Shhh....

insurance company now asking "do you have illegal HID lights?" when their customers are at fault

I was asking our of curiosity if anyone knows of a case where this has happened. If not, you may as well say that some undeclared Halfords exhaust tailpipe trims will invalidate your insurance too.

and yes they could invalidate your insurance anything fitted not from factory and not declered can and most insurance companys will use any tiny part to get out of paying.

Tbf even a sticker on your car could invalidate your insurance
