Weak 'Horn' Noise

This has happened about twice in the past week. When the steering wheel has been turned on full lock it sounds as if there is a weak horn noise (kinda noise it makes when the horn has worn out). Now it may not even be the horn but when sat in the car it sounds as if its coming from the very front of the car.

Anyone got any ideas? Cheers!

You won't get a warning that your PAS fluid is low, the loud annoying noise gives enough of a warning on it's own.

Its not a case of best fluid but only. As you can only use special mineral oil or you will knacker the seals :-(

Yeah, got to be mineral. Can't remember the code exactly, but get it from VW/Audi if not.

Its probably CHF11S. Most places stock it.

Well finally got round to checking PAS fluid level (lazyness) and turns out that the problem isn't this. Plus I haven't heard the noise in a while so tad clueless now. Stupid car - probably just showing its age
