Welly uses his windscreen washer bottle so it warns him when it's low

The AEM kits come with a pretty large bottle with a level sensor built in.. fitted an AEM kit to a TT over the weekend... the AEM controller is pretty good too...

I have a Devils Own kit to fit to mine when I find the time... great for keeping IAT's nice and low for consistent performance... fit a lot of WMI kits to Ibizas running hybrid K03's and they work well...

Is water meth injection suited more to a FMIC install, or would it be a suitable alternative to replacing the SMIC's with a FMIC? If that makes any sense

Supplements rather than replaces... always advisable to replace the SMIC's with a FMIC regardless

Cheers tuffty thought that would be the case, armed with this information is it possible to ask for the dimensions of the 90degree alloy bends on your AH fabs IC. I will be getting one in the not to distant future & would probably make fiment a lot easier as I would like to maintain the 60mm pipework.

AEM is my preference of al the WMI kits I have used and sold/fitted previously
I wont touch DO kits due to their poor reliability and tardy service support when they do go wrong.
snow performance I used to use but their prices are too high imho for what you get
aquamist i used originally but the pump was unreliable, extremely noisy, and very expensive to replace.

AEM comes fully featured and of a higher spec than the others I have mentioned. Its a great kit

Its not a complicated install, but it is very time consuming to do properly.

i like the AEM tank with the water level sensor as Welly had the smart idea of using the washer bottle as it had the sensor this way you dont loose that huge screenwash bottle for the lovely clean roads we have over here that always seams to cover my screen. Although i dont know where to fit it. i was thinking in the passanger wheel arch with a quick connect hose by the battery but i cant remember how much space there is in there as idont want it in the boot

bit more info for anyone looking into buying one of these kits:

    • Increase horsepower safely by 10-15%.
    • Lower air temperatures by 50-200+ degrees.
    • Decrease cylinder temperatures up to 300 degrees.
    • Reduce the effects of heat soak in warmer climates.
    • Allows you to safely run more boost and timing.
    • Reduces carbon and helps maintain a clean combustion chamber.
    • Increases octane at user programmable boost levels.
The main function of water methanol injection is preventing detonation. Detonation is caused by high temperatures and pressure developed in the combustion chamber. Water has a high latent heat content, which makes it extremely effective at preventing the onset of detonation. Water injection also reduces the production of NOx (oxides of nitrogen). Methanol, with its 116 octane and high flash point, further reduces the chances of detonation. While water is not combustible, it has a greater capacity to cool the intake air temps more than methanol alone. This is why we recommend a 50/50 mixture being misted into your boosted engine. Methanol also effectively increases the octane rating of the fuel, allowing performance gains when used in supercharged and turbocharged applications

I have removed my spare wheel as tbh the thing doesn't fit over my brakes anyway so looking to fabricate an alloy tank to sit in the spare wheel well where the pump will sit and storage for one of those VAG puncture kits with the goop and electric tyre pump...

Ok not as bad as i first thought, think bill told me 1 bottle will last around the same time as a tank of fuel? So what happens if you run out of methanol and carry on driving the car? I would probably go for 100 litres too but it wont go stale will it like petrol?

Nothing, just don't hammer it if you have had additional timing dialled in to suit the map....

Yep boost pressure... progressive controllers used so they have a start boost and boost for full on... typically start at 12psi and on full at 18/20psi depending on setup of course...

Right my WMI turned up today know have the real fun job of fitting it all. Bill/Paul i take it i dont need to wire in the blue and green wires. could i use the green wire onto an LED as an indicator that the tank is low? Dont shoot me ive only had a quick glance at the instructions
