Hi all,

had my A4 in for service a couple of weeks ago (free from dealer) ever since there`s been a smell like somethings died in the car, but not all the time, anyway the wifes pinpointed it to the screenwash, or at least everytime she uses the screenwashers the smell apprears, like peroxide apparently, can i just drain the bottle put disinfectant in and refill or is there a more sinister problem

Cheers Andrew

It happened to my wife's car. She only does 1500 miles a year and the MOT tester pointed out the washers stank when he sprayed them.

I emptied off then refilled with new and it was fine.

No need for disinfectant, just buy a bottle of the VAG screenwash (grey bottle) and only dilute 1:1.

I use that stuff everytime and it's one of the strongest and best screenwash I've ever used. In the summer you can dilute 1:4 or 1:5. Winter I would suggest 1:2 depending on how cold it is.
