Wow that's a lot of pictures, i'm spent! :drag:

....Just need an RS5 steering wheel now mate :icon_thumright:

Just going back to the album artwork, I though I'd seen a picture of the artwork full sized, filling the screen (similar to iTunes cover flow)
but cannot for the life of me find it now, maybe I dreamt it!

On aside note, cant remember if you'd said you were down for glass treatment booked as part of you detail, but I'm
not rating the flyby30 - two heavy lots of rain so good test, but I'm not keen - still need to use wipers at high speed but
wipers now chattering / sticking across screen. Rest of car is still looking great considering the millage / weather.

    If only (RS5 wheel)!

Re: album artwork, I get this whether it's on HDD or SD card but I have to admit I've not connected the iPod yet to see what I get so I'll check that later. Be interested to know if you get anything different on yours.

Re: The windscreen treatment, I had the same after using Rain-X on oldest S3, then similar on the car glass treatment by Dodo (Supernatural glass treatment). I found if I took the wipers off and coated them with a silicone product (like Dionysus Trim Glitz or AutoGlym Bumper Black - the one with the green square on the front) this resolved the chatter. I found you only needed to use wipers sub 30mph. Rub it onto blades, leave for half an hour, wipe dry. Do again every month or so. Helps no end. The glass treatment in rain at night is a revelation. You don't really need wipers at any speed. Due to light reflection/refractions in day time hours you don't get the same effect.

    Great photos there :icon_thumright:

It gives me a real sense of what I am looking forward to in September. The wait doesn't seem to be getting any shorter at present. Thinking of getting myself a spare set of alloys with winter tyres just so I have something physical to look at.:tocktock:

Don't blame you Glyn, the wheels are going to be a complete liability in wonter on spacers so I think I'm going to have to consider non-spacered winter wheels at some point when I get some $$$ back in!

    Amen brother...

I've my winter wheels in the repairer to have the tyres swapped over from the BMW wheels.
They did a great job on the damaged one. Something physical :D

Just personal preference but I don't really like glass treatments on the windscreen. I don't mind them on side and back windows but they just seem to cause issues on the front screen. :( There was a massive thread on Detailing World about the Gtechniq one causing chattering wipers.

Looks good, you can see on the 50/50 shot that the dealership haven't butchered your paintwork. ;) Although of course post correction you can see it is better.

Car has had two coats of C-Quartz all over, and on the front it's had 3 coats for extra protection. Can't wait to collect it later this afternoon.

Yup, was very much in the fence but then decided at the last moment to go with it. It's hard to really know what difference you'd get from one or the other in 'real world' terms, but either is better than nowt!

Warren, Looks like they've done a good job, bet you are pleased with the result. Can I ask how much it was? (PM/email if you prefer, or tell me to Foxtrot Oscar altogether ;) ) Mine is in need of some TLC so may give DMC a call and see how they stack up to the guy I've used previously...

Cheers chap; it's being horribly neglected at the moment due to work commitments otherwise they'd be a lot more going on developments wise. Hopefully things will settle down end of Oct/nov 14 and I can get back in the game!

How's it going Warren .......... not heard from you for a while mate ?

Hope you still enjoying the S5 goodness - not many more days of summer left and the winter will be upon us - that will be a test for your shining black paintwork then :)

I seam to be picking up a lot of windscreen little dings, which are rather annoying - don't know about anyone else ?
Not cracks as such, just small tiny dings, a few of which are in my direct field of vision.
Don't tend to be an issue on dull days or at night, but on sunny days they occasionally annoy me.
Can't remember previous Audi screens being this prone to this issue.

I had a lot of these with the BMW, usually from stones flying off other vehicles. Quite a few in the visible area.
Just had to learn to live with them, bigger ones usually 'softened' if they were in the wipe area, blades somehow softened the edges.

Once I get driving and forget about them - they don't seam to bother me.
Its only when I remember they are there, then my eyes seam to get drawn to them :)
Once your field of vision concentrates on the road ahead, they kinda aren't an issue.
Its just I am a stickler for having a clean windscreen so because of this, it is a minor irritation to me.

sorry to be a complete noob, is there a Specific kind of LED for each part or are they all the same, Could I fit red ones to my vehicle? I'm technical car noob, though I know how to replace things ect.

Gents, apologies for the no show. I've been on incredibly demanding contract in Bristol / Nottingham and other than it being punctuated with a couple of well earned holidays I've barely had time to take a s**t, let alone do anything useful with the car.

Car has spent nearly 4 weeks with Audi having:

    • Steering wheel straightened
    • Tracking issues resolved
    • Damage to undersill repaired (caused by Audi at PDI we believe)
    • New drivers door sill (original one was coming away at leading edge)
Needless to say I had some woeful 2.0TDI hire cars to make me feel like a valued customer. But things got worse. Front bumper scratch (like a trolley mark) appeared just before it went into Audi. People in Waitrose are as rude and arrogant as anywhere and we believe it may have been done there, so that has now been remedied.

Thankfully (and with fingers tightly crossed) I'm hoping that is the end of all the shitty stuff. Car is going back to Nick at DMC to have 'repaired' panels re-coated, then to cheer us up we've decided to add some magic to the pot to offset where the S5 is letting us down just a wee bit. More to that to follow in due course, but lets just say there could be a lot of grinning going on this weekend.

Still not loving the S-Tronic particularly, or the B&O, but other than these little foibles the car is an absolute gem that just needs a tiny bit of help to make her really shine. Watch this space......!
