It's all fitted now and to be honest I've had a fkn gut full of messing with the exhaust system. If I do get it done I'll just run it to an exhaust place and pay them to do it properly.

I am the king of pikey exhausts so i know my sh!t haha. I made my straight pipe exhaust using some mild steel solid and flexi pipe which cost me all of £10 and just used jubilee clips for hangers!

Yeah you`d cut it before the reduced to 2.5 bit on the downpipe so its only gone from 3 to 2.75 and take off the 2.5 - 2.75 reducer that was needed to fit the Milltek in the first place and just slap some pipe in the middle to join. Plenty-O paste and go wake up the neighbourhood!

Amazing times there Westy! Car must be very rapid indeed!

Looking at your 1/4 times vs 0-60 times, our times from 60mph - the quarter are very similar, you're on average one second quicker to 60, and 1 second quicker over all. Considering the weight of the S3 you can't be a million miles off 300bhp now surely!

Yeah I was running consistent times all weekend and I never imagined those times in my wildest dreams. I even ran the 5.02 0-60 with a 16 stone Rhubarb (Chris) in my car! He then jumped out so I could break the 5 second barrier lol. The 6 second 0-60 was where I missed 3rd gear.

I just need to get some time and money to buy some larger injectors and get the car custom mapped to get the very best out of it. Cant wait.

The final run I saw of yours, everything looked like it came together and the car looked rapid. Shame I couldn't give an opinion on whether it was as quick as pre rebuild, we just never seemed to be in the same place at the same time! As mentioned above, great times and makes you wonder what sort of times you'll be getting when it's completed.

First real test for the clutch/fly set up. Seems to be up to the job lol.

Bit of weight dropped and once you`re fully mapped you`ll be laughing! (even more)

Yeah clutch was absolutely solid for all launches, very happy.

After the mapping is done my next step will be to get bucket seats as a minimum which will free up at least 30+KGs from the weighty Recaro fronts. I also now have a set of Team Dynamic wheels which will free up 12+kgs over my TT wheels.

Cheers mate. Looks good in the pics but not so good up close. Also note how I've avoided snapping the front of the car due to the stone chips lol. Anyway, my car is "used and abused" so I'm not overly fussed about the paintwork when it's performing so well :)

When im back from my weekend away/Your b`day/moving in do i`ll pop up one weekend :)

I need to get the passenger seat replaced with a bucket and sort some wheels too. Too busy trying to get it track worthy before that though. Those bits would get me under 1200kgs though. Im only 20 away.

Finally just got round to checking the wheels I picked up at the weekend from Scott. Thanks for spotting these and brining them to infers for me mate

These are Team Dynamic Imolas in 17" by 8", perfect for the set of Yokohama semi slick tyres I have sitting here. These wheels are lighter then the OEM wheels by about 3kgs each.

All the tyres are bald or near to bald so they'll be getting removed next week. I'm then thinking abou a DIY refurb in bright green, like I've always wanted ;)

I've priced up primer, some ford "signal" green from halfords, and some lacquer all for £48. As you can see from the pics, the wheels will need a bit of liquid metal here and there to return them to glory.

All in all not a bloody bad set of rims for £80 and they're not as badly curbed as I initially thought. Happy days!

so are you getting them blasted?
after a blasting you might find those curbs might smooth out with some well chosen sandpaper, so might not need liquid metal.

    Not a problem mate.
    Happy to help.

I would go with getting them sandblasted.
    Be allot easier for you.

Hhm to be honest I'd just sand them down and on the worst parts just get a flap wheel on a drill and take it back as smooth as possible. Doesn't have to be perfect for pure track work does it?

I'm currently waiting on a cost for just sand blasting but keeping this refurb cheap is the main plan.

Tried to fit one of the wheels today but they won't clear my brembos. I was told the wheels are ET35 and 8J but I'm not so sure. Below are the markings I can find but it's not very clear. Does anyone have any ideas or know anything about Team Dynamic wheels?

This looks like 7 or 7.5J

This must be a TD code of some sort

    This looks like an 8

If I put a tape measure across the rim from edge to edge it's 8.5"!

I'll definitely need a minimum of 5mm spacers to get these to fit.

judging by the stretch on those 205's, I'd say they're at least a 7.5J rim mate, but those markings are unclean to me, are any of the other wheels easier to read?

Almost looks like 7'' J to me, although I've never seen the '' on a wheel size before.

Perhaps someone else can shed some light on that!

If you can get a tyre off, measure inside the rim, from bead to bead

no idea on the stamping there fred!, but looks like the shift one is a traceability stamp as to who made them for a quality control point of view!
are you going to do a "how to" guide on your rim refurb?

are all rims stamped up the same? i.e do they all look like the same? try pressing blu tac onto the stamp and see if the impression is clearer to read in the blu tac!

Just been across all 4 wheels and they are all as bad as each other. I think 1 does say 7.5j. I think the wheels have been refurbed before and that's why the stamps are so faint.

I found something on the net that said if I call rimstock and give them the stamped numbers they should be able to tell me. Not a clue on ET as cant find anything resembling that. I'm thinking about usin nitromors on the stamps to strip off some paint to reveal what they say.

This is he clearest of the 4 wheels.

This definitely looks like 7.5j but I can't find an offset number anywhere. I'm going to call rimstock tomorrow.

that's very clearly 7.5J x 17 to me, as you say looks like they've been powder coated in the past hence the stamps being so unclear.

Shame, as they would be awesome if they were 8J, and they'd clear your brakes!

Bummer :( I had the same disappointment when I went to fit my 6 pots. The BBS wouldn't fit over, and they were 8.5 ET20! Going to have to go ET10 I think, it's going to poke a touch :(

At least as yours are 7.5, you can run a decent spacer and not worry about them hitting the arches.

The weight saving kind of goes out of the window if I need spacers. I don't like the idea of spacers on track wheels but they might be ok. My other option is to sell them straight on and maybe make some money on them.

It's annoying because I do like the wheels and they are light and will be ok for my track tyres. I might keep them if I can get some 5mm spacers for cheap but spacers seem to be around £100 for a decent set of 4.

Spacers are just flat bits of ally with some holes in them?
    Something Dave could do?

If you do sell them, I think a crustacean showed interest. :)

Scott, I showed interest when they were 8J and fitted over brembos, they're now worthless to me :p

I've got 7.5J rims coming out of my ears, I need some 8J or larger to fit my massive slicks / yoko wtcc wets!

I'm now keeping my eyes peeled for either some 8Js or some 7.5J wheels that don't require spacers. If I can find some second hand cheap 5-10mm spacers I might keep these wheels.
