Very quick 1.8 non T thermostat fitting question.

Firstly is there a paper gasket between the hoses? There is on my old one but thats knackered after the swap, but none of the new gaskets fit. And where does the oring go, before the stat in the pump or after? Ive heard before the stat in the pump but the diagram shows after with no sign of a paper gasket.

There's no paper gasket, just the 'O' ring. Order is... Thermostat in, then 'O' ring then plastic housing. 'O' ring should sit in a groove around the housing but the trick is that you've got to assemble it all with the hindrance of gravity lol
