sitting waiting to turn right off a main road into a side street, saw a car approaching too fast at my rear, decided to go for a gap in the traffic to avoid being tailgated. full power on full lock, i started turning then lost all steering then as i powered off the steering came back. power steering warning light and alarm came on. i moved down the street and pulled over, it seems to have reset with no adverse effects apart from my underwear. from what i can make out it appears that due to electronic power steering not mechanical, i managed to overpower it and caused a sort of lag while it caught up with my move!

at least i did not get tailgated!.

anybody had a similar fright. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked2.gif

I'm getting enough fright just by reading about it! I think I'd make an appointment to the dealer to check for error codes.

Not had any problems with the steering yet, unlike the wipers /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
