The truth is always amusing! :)

But did the rich man put the $10 into savings because then he'd be taxed on that too :lmfao:

Similar to people 'winning' their bank charges back. You only get so much because you paid so much in the first place.

You forgot to mention the fact that the richest man was actually operating as a limited company and that the contract for buying and drinking beer was between the bar and his company. He could then claim expenses on the dry cleaning for his suit he was wearing in the smoky bar.

In much the same vein, myself and loads of workmates were out on Friday for a curry and then on to a large bar for some beers. One of the guys there is a contractor at our company, believed to be on four-figures PER WEEK.

Somewhat wasted, he bought three bottles of Moet for us all, and then later I was at the bar with him when he bought two more. For £87 the pair. Even the girl behind the bar asked if he was sure he wanted to proceed as he waved his credit card at her.

As a mate said later, it seems amazing that anyone can blow that kind of money to us mere mortals - kind as it was of him to do it - but when you're paid that much money, the bottles of champers have the same relative cost as Mars bars.
