upgrade bootlid

    hi just got a query

    I have a 1996 A4 B5 with the push button bootlid and was wondering if it is possible to fit a bootlid without the button (with the elecrtric release) without too much hassle
    bootlid i am thinking about is off a V reg model

    I dont see there being a fitment issue.

    Can you not just swap over the switch/mechanics if the push button switch

    Unless you want the different opening style

    Think its a bit of a 'swap the full CL pump over and necessary wiring' job

    Yeh the electronic tailgates dont actually lock as such, the central locking pump just ignores the buttons if the car is locked.

    Not an easy job to swap unless your good with automotive electrics.

    Are you just wanting to swap to get rid of the ugly push button? If so, you can easily mod your own boot so that it works from a solenoid. I did mine a few years back. Have a little button hidden under the dash which you use to open the boot.
