Another Evo reader - had mine delivered, but on hol's next week, so putting off reading it! I think we'd all got there with the taking Rolling Roads with a pinch of salt, but another 35ib/ft of torque over night... ha ha, that's a great mod!
Shame you can't make it, as I'm not sure there is a superchips car attending, It's great to see a mix of different tuned cars on the same road on the same day.
Should be a great day though - think there are about 25 cars, with some TT-S coming along as well from the tt-talk.com forum.

I'd have a TT-S in a flash, the comment above is a bit of a long story to be taken with a pinch of salt.
4 years time... if rumours are true you know the TT-RS is likely to have been out for a little while by then inline 5 cylinder turbo - search on you tube... sounds like the old Audi group B rally S1's ;)

    Back on topic!..
Just finished the upload process and after a slightly worrying time where the dash started flashing errors like a christmas tree, all seems to be loaded and working!.
Took it for a quick spin and it seems a lot more urgent when revved and the whistle is much louder too. Seemed a bit laggy at the bottom end but third gear acceleration seemed very quick!.
I need to find a bit of flat road to vag com run before and after just to see comparisons..

You dont sound overly impressed with the original superchips map then?
Im still trying to decide between this and the giac hammer map, im still favoring the hammer map at the min.

i watched this thread evolve and went straight for Leon's map. I must say so far I am impressed. Just come back from a spin and the torque push seems amazing.
I didnt want a map all revvy and up the top end , rather just push my foot down and feel the surge. It seems to hit the mark.
I still want to do some graphs on vag com for my own benifit just to see the before and after.

Again, this is sopied from another thread, but relevent!

Right - I can't remember which post it was where all sort of questions where asked about the GIAC software and how it works etc, so here is the reply I got:

Q1. The GIAC standard map you have the option of switching back to. Is this a GIAC map (ie still a remapped version) or is it a copy of the original/latest Audi standard software?

A1. This is the OE map with the most up to date version, so there is no need for the dealer to up date the software.

Q2. Flash counter. Is this set to stay at 1 or 0, or does it automatically delete any additional flashes. Ie, if a car already had flash count of 3 from Audi work, would it stay at 3 when the GIAC is added.

A2. It will always stay on the number that was already present on the ECU. If a dealer still reflashes, the GIAc will need to be re-insalled, but will then keep the flash count to what the dealer last flashed the ECU to.

Q3. How detectable is it to a dealer?

A3. Zero as the flasher and security counters are not increased and the software code is the most up to date. Only a boost check will indicate that there is software. However the tech has to know what he is looking at.

Hope that helps answer some people's queries.

Had that statement from Superchips sent to me today:

‘A Superchips remap is intended for use on a vehicle with no other modifications, however if small modifications are made i.e. Air filter element replacement or "cat back" replacement exhaust, the ECU with the Superchips remap will in 99.9% adapt to these changes. In many cases we have experience of cars with certain modifications and can supply a more suitable map, we may already have a custom map for certain major changes like injectors or turbo with power test results and data logging to verify the safety of these maps. On occasion customer feedback using tools such as VAG-COM can highlight an issue and we can alter the necessary parameters within the scope of our previous experience. Ultimately if major modifications are made it is possible to offer a remapping service to suit the modification at our headquarters in Buckingham.’
