Tyre rubbing on cornering.

Had to put my car (S3) into the stealers today, drove it with 2 passengers last week and on right hand turns the tyre was rubbing inside the wing especially on hard lock.
Had my local garage have a look at it and was told that the springs and shock absorbers looked fine.
No problems with wishbones or any of the steering/suspension either.
Has anyone who has lowered their suspension had this problem?
Not sure if the previous owner has decided to go down this route, wheels are standard Avus 17".

Thats odd, I'm running 19" wheels and can carry 4 passenger + me with no catching at all!, so plenty of room for the standard 17" wheels to into.
