Just spotted a bulge on the front drivers side tyre on our new a3 we bought last year. How do we stand warranty wise with this as the car has only done 4k miles .

Surely Pirelli have some sort of warranty for tyre defects

You can always try it, but generally the response is a clipped kerb! But it is possible for them to analyse a duff tyre and identify the cause of failure.

But whatever you do try not to use the car as it could suffer a rapid deflation, on the front too.

Would the tyre insurance Audi tried to flog me at point of sale have covered this sort of thing?

Tyre insurance normally has a declining payout based on age of tyre.

A bulge in the sidewall only ever occurs from impact damage.

The cords are damaged and the structure of the tyre is compromised.

You need to get it changed asap. You won't get an allowance this time, but many retailers now offer no quibble warranties on replacement tyres.

Audi dealer have said to get the tyre changed give them the old one and they will send it back for test s then refund us .

The tyre place my wife took it to said it's definitely a faulty tyre. There's no signs of it being pothole damage.

I had this issue with a new Scirocco, but it was Dunlop SP01s. First winter saw 3 out of 4 of the tyres knackered with sidewall bulges. The Dunlop investigation team gave me short shrift and said I must have hit a pothole - 3 tyres knackered in 2 months is no coincidence. I got nowt out of them. I currently have a MK7 Golf GTD that came with Bridgestone Potenzas which offer extremely poor initial traction froma standing start - new tyres with VAG cars are a real lottery.

In fear of sounding arrogant. You should be spending the time getting that changed and not posting on here. Blow-out.com

As opposed to the Audi dealer getting a replacement and charging you if it turns out to be your fault or not charging you if it is faulty.
    Customer service these days?
