Two questions 2005 tdi sport.

1.Daft question maybe, but on a turbo diesel does the turbo run all the time, or does it come in over a certain rev range.

2. Is there any way to open the boot with the engine running. (and car parked of course)

Cheers. I'm a bit of a grandad driver, and drive at approx 2000 rpm, 65mph to work. Is that a bad thing for the turbo.

I don't think that it is, so long as you give it a proper run from time to time. Mine starts to ask me to rev higher as the DPF fills up with soot, and I've heard that it's good to do the same thing even if you don't have a DPF to clear the turbo vanes.

Then again, this could all be a load of sh!te...
