Turbo Hiss

Hey guys!

im new to Audi Sport and im doing my reserch as im looking to buy an A3 T-sport quattro 1.8 and one question I have had and nobody could give me a straight answer to is "does the A3 1.8T make the cool turbo wastegate sound". I have heard people say that it does and some say it doesn't. My reserch so far has churned up a half answer that it has a recirculation valve but i would assume that it would need some kind wastegate! anwyway i thought that if anyone would know it would be you guys!

its your turbo stalling. i have a fecked Re-cerc valve if you want to make it make that noise!

that "cool" noise is ok on bigger turbos as the internals can take it stopping and spinning the other way in a split second. Audi turbos are made of rizlas and match sticks.. they do not like stalling and WILL brake eventually. i know from experience!!! its cool till it costs you a fortune to fix!

get a induction kit and a decent Re-cerc valve and you will hear it dump loud enough to make people jump.

Im just wondering weather a standard 1.8T 20v engine makes the turbo sound when changing gear A'la Astra VXR.

it shouldnt do as standard no. Prob got a fecked Dump valve.
