    TTE470 is our hybrid performance upgrade turbocharger for the new 3rd generation VAG 2.0TSI following on from our proven TTE400+ upgrade stage. Fast boost response near like as a stock turbocharger but with durability and higher power.

    Engineered & Enhanced

    To construct a TTE470 we change the original compressor and employ a far larger and more efficient billet wheel with extended tip technology and mill the compressor cover to optimum gap to match the new compressor profile. We CNC modify original compressor cover and delete the DV function and port right before the compressor wheel to improve efficiency and power for increased airflow and CNC modify the compressor cover to vent to the atmosphere.

    We also fit our TTE CNC silencer delete. Modifying the turbo discharge silencer, removing the baffle internals and fitting a new straight through section, removing any restriction and its function as a noise cancelling device, and so improving the flow, giving less surge and enhancing the sound.

    We install a clipped turbine for greater gas flow. The clipping of the turbine is a special TTE grinding process to the turbine blade tips. Curved to alleviate stress from the process. Clipping reduces blade area thus increasing gas flow and so reducing backpressure and lowering exhaust gas temperatures, allowing safer higher boost level. This process also gives a secondary advantage of removing some material, lightening the turbine thus reducing the rotational mass improving moment of inertia.


    Equilibrium

    Precisely balancing our turbochargers is a key critical factor to become a TTE upgrade unit as longevity and performance are paramount. Good balance improves acoustics also. Subsequent great care is taken with all TTE turbochargers to achieving our balance standards. Firstly parts are balanced at slow speeds up to 2800RPM in multiple planes using our single parts machine, then components are assembled and then the CHRA are dynamically balanced, but this time depending on application at up to 250,000 RPM in multiple planes using our in-house VSR machine to acquire the ultimate equilibrium, to a standard far higher than OEM. Each turbocharger is supplied with serial numbered balance test result document.

    If it goes up to 450+ it will be a better investment

    Yeah cost is quite high vs power as such but this is par for the coarse and all new generation turbo stages go this way. But also i need tell you this is not a easy upgrade of just a wheel..

    But once the tuners work out best hardware and best ecu calibration the power will come its just time. Seen it time and again over the years :thumbs up:

    1/4 Mile 11.6175 @117.91
    @1.5bar 60ft times are all 1.7s so plenty more to come!

    Okay thanks! When running the tte450+ r turbo on a GTI do you guys swap the stock GTI electronic wastegate onto the R turbo since the R wastegate is different? Do you know if they are running a piggyback or flash tune? If so which piggyback or what flash? Thanks

    It did 447ps and 560nm. With a 0-60 time of 3.2 seconds on the vbox.

    I am verry impressed with the dyno of MRC tuning. How sure am i of simular results with my tuner ?
    The previous results of TIJ power are 426 pk instead of the 447 of MRC.

    447 would be worth considering, 426 not.

    Thanks for sharing the dyno. For info JD tell me was able to get over 450ps at higher boost levels. They tuned at 440 because car is still on stock intercooler and stock rear exhaust system. There result looks laggy too ?

    yeah, but they also said that it needed high boost levels to get this far 2.0 bar for 440 pk.
    And that may is much and needs still to be proven to be reliable.

    I drive about 35.000 km a year so i need to be sure it can hold up.

    Ok they tell you more info then me as I got no boost values from them after contacting when you shared the dyno.

    I told them MRC and David Lee make 460ps at 1.8-1.85 bar peak but with upgrade IC and full sports exhaust. Still much to learn for all on this platform.

    I am still in doubt if this is the way to go for me.
    Maybe i will make a switch to a S4.

    Do you have an bolt on turbo for that platform ?

    Only s4 that is turbocharged is the B5 and yes we have many for.

    Newer are supercharged and we dont do anything for. Are upgrade out there like pully kits so on.

    Just got off phone with Mark @JDengineering and it was 1.8bar peak for 440hp on there car. Mark was really quite posative regarding results bearing in mind stock intercooler and exhaust and on 98 fuel
