Hello everyone, are there any differences in the front hubs and shafts between the following cars:

    1.8T TT Quattro
    S3
    A3 Quattro

Also, did the front hubs change between Quattro and FWD cars?

    Cheers,
    Mark

I know for sure that the 4WD and FWD hubs are different.

Thats strange as the fronts on my car I identical to the rears, hubs that is!
They use the same bearings and hubs on my 99 S3 front and rear, as I have just replaced the hubs and bearings.

Ahh sorry let me clarify, when I said hub I actually meant the whole unit; 'knuckle' is it?

Thanks for the help so far.

    It's for my project: http://www.mwstewart.co.uk/cars/fiestaquattro/

I want to run 17" RS4 reps (new style), so I may as well use some Quattro hubs/knuckles rather than get some adapters machined to fit the wheels on to the Ford hubs.

I'm just wondering when I go to the breakers, if I can get some from any A3/TT etc or whether I need O2M Quattro versions (if they're different).

    Cheers,

    Nice project!

Right, I'm with you now. FWD deffo different to 4WD.

As for a3 quattro versus s3/tt quattro, I seem to rememeber them having different part numbers. S3/TT have a longer hub vertically to reposition the ball joint. This is to keep correct steering geometry for factory lower suspension.

Can't rememeber if A3 quattro has this. I'll take a better look for you when I get in from work and have more time.

    Cheers!

Did you get chance to check the part numbers?

Parts catalogue lists different numbers between Quattro and S3/TT Quattro.
Driveshafts maybe slightly different lengths or at least a change of CV joint.

I would go for the S3/TT parts exclusively for the ability of a lower car with more horizontal wishbones. Bound to be loads of dismantled TTs about.

    Hope that helps.
