tracking for a audi a3 quattro

Should tracking be done before or after fitting new tyres on a quattro.
Is it true that it needs tracking done rear to front ?

Would of thought it should be done when the new tyres are fitted... When mine has been tracked it been done like any other front wheel drive car but I guess it depends how far out it is....

Set the back up first on the laser alignment types as it could be the rears throwing the front alignment out on screen

cheers i have done rear to front on the old tyres then put new 2 new front tyres on but if you do it front to rear its out about 1 degree but been told loads of ways to change the angle of wheels to run square
