Hopefully get air con drained next few days then get that out the way. Then progress will start when parts arrive.

Yay customs have my gearbox. This is why it takes so long to do anything over here.

Gearbox is here and looks great and feels really nice. Will find out what it really like when it goes in.

Other good news is Tim passed his driving test today. So I won't have to do all the running around.

I remember having to buy a second hand gearbox (for pretty cheap) and praying it felt nice after it was put in!
My mechanic said it felt very nice when it turned up at his workshop- but obviously the proof was post fitment :)

Well done Tim for passing as well :beerchug: :rockwoot:

I hate seagulls. Just cleaned and polished the daily. First time in about 2 months (I know a sin). Go outside to vacuum it and a seagull had dropped the contents of its guts all over it. Not happy

Hope this goes well, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it

I'm looking to get a 6speed box & diff & clutch etc but have no idea where to start looking plus I bet it's mega money. I just bought a cheap 1.8t (150) that I hope to track later this year but the 5 speed is already awful - can't change up past about 5k revs lol. I'm going to have a google first off me thinks.

Hi Nath I have been getting stuff off eBay and hoping for the best and been checking on the forum to see if anyone is selling the parts we want. Yeah the 5 speed on ours was not good so thought might as well go the whole hog.

I don't want to think about the money really. I know the clutch we are planning on getting comes in at around 1k but we want to future proof it for the the power upgrades next year..

We are aiming for track day in France in September which gives us a bit of time. Will be posting up some work on it soon hopefully.

Tim is gagging to rip out the rest of the redundant wires. Just waiting on the cam belt kit then air con will be taken out and cam belt changed.

I'm looking forward to the four day weekend to start, with sunny weather expected and a Hillclimb to watch on bank holiday Monday. I will upload some photos of the hillclimb next week.

just bosh it with a hammer and chisel then run away! much faster way of draining your aircon!

Tim is an apprentice mechanic. So he has access to the machinary needed so might as well do it properly. Where the car is stored at my work I'm lucky enough to have access to a ramp too which helps. Just need to order quaife diff for my 02m and new drive shafts and clutch. Then we can get suspension and bushes. And arb's. Delivery has been the biggest pain in this project so far.

Ohhh so your suggesting that hitting it with a hammer and chisel isnt doing it properly!!!!

4 weeks to get a baffled sump. I had mine next day!
What a pain, you two would be flying if it wasnt for the delivery hold ups!! Very jealous!

Quaiffe for me. Never really considered peloquin at all. I was between quaiffe and wavetrack.
The fact it was a uk company with a long long history swung me in the end

I had quaife in my 02J, now peloquin in my 02M, there's really nothing in it.

Given a blank canvas though, I'd go wavetracfor a road car, or sqs plate diff for a race car. I want an sqs for mine, vid found the limits of an atb type diff now.

The sqs is not too bad price really. This car will get used on the road to drive to and from events and possibly a Sunday blow out but that will be it. Everything else will be hammering it around a track or up a hill. Oh and to visit you guys at some point.

I know nothing about diffs. But i think peloquin sounds cool. Quaiffe just sounds like a slang term for lady parts

That will be the handling done for now. Then can concentrate on the brakes and things. So will be posting some pics soon of some work getting done yay.

To get heater matrix out was a pain to find the bolts. Tim went for brute force after a while. Will upload photos when I get to my pc. We have got some 9kg fibreglass ones from eBay and when it gets more serious we might upgrade.

I know it's been a while but been really busy at work and sorting my land rover out. We have a new set of wheels for the Audi now. Will post a picture later.
I also ordered a new clutch for it yesterday just a standard Leon cupra r clutch for now and will update when we do power.
Wiring is almost done which Tim has been doing as and when he can.

Went to order my kw variant 3's from jabba motorsport yesterday along with front and rear anti roll bar as they were reasonably price for the coilovers at just £999 excluding vat but could not put more then one item in the basket. So I emailed them saying what I wanted and that I couldn't put it in my basket.
Today no response from jabba so went on to try again maybe just a bug in the system. Went to the coilovers and they had gone up £111.
Coincidence? I think not. Is it just me or is that out of order?

Jabba sport have redeemed themselves in my eyes after offering me discount after the whole price raising incident. Ordered anti roll bars and coilovers tonight. So 15 to 20 days should arrive.

    Fair play jabba.
I went to order some ds3000 yesterday from dcperformance advertised at 145 plus 8 delivery
They were advertised to fit renault 3.0v6, i knew they were the same as my leon brembos but wanted confirmation from the seller.
He goes off to call them.
Phones me back saying yes they are the same pad. He says thats 161 plus 8 delivery please,
I said they are 145 on the website to which he says they are not.i hang up and check the site and of course it now says 161 plus 8 delivery. I have no doubt he changed the price after calling them.
Not good business practice at all.
Anyway glad yours got sorted mate.

    Defo due some pics!!!

Hope this is enough evidence that this project is still going on, admittedly slower then expected but that is due to spare time, money and other commitments. We will be making some big changes to the suspension and gearbox soon...so watch this space!
