Have read that this is quite a simple retrofit consisting of essentially a TPMS switch for the dash, a few wires and coding? I'm just wondering if anyone has this fitted, does the switch light up to match the dash when the lights are on (ie like the ESP OFF switch)?

The switch is around £13 from AUDI

8P0927121 5PR TPMS switch (single DIN radio 04-08)
8P0927121A 5PR TPMS switch (double DIN radio 04-08)
    4D0971636A Switch plug

You need to check if your abs controller supports it 1st before doing anything else.

Button lights up at night red as part of illumination circuit, but it simply when depressed lights up momentarily on the dash with a beep & when you have a lesser rolling circumference warns you via a lamp in cluster, newer systems on the 8P have dis based warning & setting system via MF stalk with no button.

    Hi Nigel.

I have a 06 plate 2.0TDI. Would my abs controller be able to support this?

    Thanks in advance.

When your vcds arrives you'd need to check part no. of abs against what etka says it can do.

Guys - sounds as though this is a go-er. Unfortunately I am not into the buzz words like VCDS or EKTA so would need to somebody to steer me in the right direction.

    I have a 2010 S3 - would this be workable?

So could my brand new black edition have TPMS enabled through the dis via VCDS?
No need for a button and could reset it through the DIS?

VCDS is a cable and the software is downloaded to your laptop.
It is similar to what the dealers use. You can code, scan, fault find etc etc.
IMHO every vag car owner should own one if they intend with staying in the vag group for a long time. Can save you hundreds in the long run.

PM NHN as he is the main man for selling genuine cables. Not the cheapest cable, but well worth it in the long run and you will find Nigel(NHN) sells at a good price.

EKTA is an electronic parts catalogue also used on the laptop/pc again used by dealers to get part numbers etc. you can buy copies of this from fleebay.

    Hope this helps.

Its not actually advising as it supersedes to another module which also isnt advising to well, I would try & code the option & see if it rejects the coding.

Ahh cool. Cheers. So if I code the option and it doesnt reject the code, hopefully should mean that it is compatible?

If accepts then its more than 50% chance will work, but tbh mate, just code, if accepts, stick a wire in the right slot & iirc a 12v 5 second touch should simulate the button being pressed & see if it beeps on the cluster, if so then tpms will work, needs about 100 km's to calibrate though.
