Torsen 4WD

I've been told that the Quattro on my A6 (C6 on 2004) is Torsen driven and not Haldex, and doesn't require an oil service as it's filled for life; how robust are they compared to Haldex?

The Torsen quattro system is all mechanical and very reliable compared to a haldex system.

Had my rear diff oil changed last year, more of a preventative maintenance, than required! Not sure what the life span of the diff oil is but mine had done 200K and the car is 10 years old.

yes, inquired today and Audi stated it didn't require servicing unlike the Haldex system, so that's good; have there been incidents of mechanical malfunction in this Torsen version leaving aside the Allroad model? Mine has just done over 100K.
