Was just browsing/window shopping on the site sponsors checking the remaps for the 1.9 tdi.
I noticed there are 2 torque ratings for the 130. How would I know which I have?
I really want it to be 310nm, 285 sounds ok, but 310 :eyebrows:

To be honest, I'd say what you get will just lie somewhere between those two figures. It's all a bit vague as to actual figures, as it depends on what bhp the car has when you get the map. And, of course being 10 years old the bhp is unlikely to be still 130bhp.

All I can say is that you should get it done. The difference is very noticeable. I got mine done almost 3 years ago and have not had one single regret about it.

It has to be pound for pound the best value for money mod i reckon!! Another car I took in for remap years ago should have been 150 bhp standard but was showing 157 before the map was put on so you never know!! I cant comment on diesel remaps as only ever experienced petrol remaps, but sure others can pitch in.

The only mod that seems to come close on pound for pound value is the rs4 RARB, which I really want to get done on mine.

The difference is dependant on how many gears your vehicle has? 5 speed is 285nm whilst 6 speed is 310nm.

Hope this answers your query :)

Interesting this one... my understanding always was that the Quattro 130s all had 310nm (228lb/ft) and the FWD models all had 285nm (210lb/ft), but maybe it is to do with the gearbox as it would make sense that the newer 6-speed box could cater for a little more torque.

I have heard also that the VAG diesels engines all have variable outputs and that from the factory the figures were somewhat conservatively rated. I've heard that most TDI PD 130s put out around 140ish bhp and 230lb/ft+ hence the variable numbers people get back post remap.

Like anything though, you need to do what you can to ensure that the engine is running as efficiently as possible before you start... so a clean EGR, inlet manifold and turbo is a must along with fresh oil.

    Hope this is of use.

    J:)

    Thanks all, some interesting reading.
mine is fwd 5sp, feels strong though. I would like a rolling road trip to see if it's still got all its torques and horses left in it.
Then maybe a remap if anyone makes me an offer I can't refuse, I'm sure there are some new year deals local.
