Took the S3 for a basic service, split pipe!!!

Hi there

took my 1999 s3 for a basic service to my mates and he said when he lifted the box to get too plugs 3 + 4 there is a little pipe that goes into a T piece from the box and it is split.

What is it?
Where do I get one?
What difference will it make?

its part of the vacuum system....mine went a few weeks back, Audi wanted 60-70quid for an array of pipes.... that included the T piece.... so i fabricated my own.... save yourself some money if you can fit another piece in mate

oh....and it will reduce your top end boost slightly making the car run with differing fuelling as it cant correctly gauge
