I am thinking about de-wipering the rear of my a3 and putting a blanking plug in that ive seen on ebay.
I love the look of no rear wiper as it makes the lines look much cleaner on the rear but dont know if i will be able to do without it?

What is anybody elses thoughts on this and has anyone already done it or have any pics?

I use to be a fan of removing the rear wiper but now i think unless you've totally smoothed all the car it just makes it look like the poverty model of the car even though all A3's have rear wipers... just my 2p!

I used to have it done on my car before my A3, but now i have an audi i dont think changing to de-wiper would look good....my opinion it would look good if the whole boot was smoothed like dpm said....but its your car mate and whatever you think looks good - STANDS!

Hmm I think either no wiper or aero wiper looks best... depends what the blanking plug looks like?

Someone on AS.NET has done it, however I can't remember who it was. it does look smooth. However with the way the fat arse of the S3 keeps kicking up **** the back windscreen will come dirt ridden in no time then you can't see out.

Just debadge the rear then it looks even smoother...

Looks good imo would keep the rings on though.

As mentioned the rear window can get proper mucky so i reckon aero wiper and debadged is the way forward.

Maybe ask markb how he gets on in the rain without the rear wiper?

I can't see the point of removing the wiper...it's there for a reason!
Personally, I think cars look **** with it removed and a blank in place.

I couldn't drive without a rear wiper...I like to see the Police sneaking up behind me!

    Looks super clean, nice look!

I wouldn't like risk of not being able to spot the old bill in my rear view mirror, if i failed to clean the car or if it was raining!! :sly:

Nah the rings just emphasis 'nick me' as had happened a few times with mine. Still it makes cleaning the rear easier.

Owning an A4, i find not having a rear wiper a pain in the arse. Especially this time of year, you can't see anything out the back when it's pissing down with rain.

I think this is another mod that's great for people that prefer to look at their cars / spend every day polishing them than people that like driving, I know my S3 couldn't do without the rear wiper for 9 months of the year and I live in the south east.
