I've spent a couple of weeks trying to find a good (not OTT) system (or seperates) to upgrade my home entertainment set-up and I am struggling to say the least.
I currently have:
- Philips TV with virtual surround sound (this is no more than computer enhanced stereo) which I don't wish to replace as yet.
- A Pansonic DVD with a optical digital out. It does not have a DTS decoder and Dolby Digital (on two channels only).

My current wish list is:
- Home Cinema with at least 5.1 surround sound
- Wireless speakers (at least the rear ones)
- Decent CD sound via my existing DVD player
- MP3 or similar (iPod?) with ability to connect to the above or In-Car via Audi Symphony II.

Any advice or suggestions would be welcome. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

Are you looking to combine two-channel stereo for music in with 5.1 home theatre for DVDs, or will you have two systems, one for films, one for music? Also, what is your budget?
