    Hello Luggs,

Sorry mate, I don't know which engine you have, but I got 18K out of my 2.0TDI with alot of gentle (work) driving.

    Kev.

EDIT: I think they were Dunlop Sport

I've got 23k out of mine but the fronts are definitely due change. Were at 2-3mm a few thousand miles back. Michelin Pilot Sport 2s.

Going to get the Goodyears next.

GSD3's are the way forward. Had them on my old car and was very impressed in the wet and dry.

I did 20K before I changed the Dunlop Sport 01s on my A3 2.0 TDI. There were down to 2-3mm. I replaced them with the same tyres.

I swapped round the fronts and rears at 4mm on the front at 16K (rears almost unworn)

Then all four were gone at 27K.

If you change all four together then you can get a better deal from the supplier and change to a different type without worries of the adverse handling problems caused by odd tyres. Or ruining your transmission if you've got a quattro!!
