I have a silver A3 and got the limo tints with a 45% on the front windows. Blends nicely!

They apply them in situ, I had a guy who I use for all my cars called Capacino tints he comes out and does them at your home.
What price should I be paying to do the back half of my A4 ???
I'm paying £140 for the rear, which is a discounted price, they usually charge £200
I paid £120 for the rear but as I say I use him for all my cars so that should be discounted, I hope it is anyway lol
Can I ask any of you to put photos of your rear screen as one of the things I never liked about tinting was how the heater lines look odd when tinted. Is this still the case ??
Mine won't be done until the morra, but if you don't like seeing those lines don't get it done pal, here's my last car with them done
i know pepe very very well
for the last 15 or so years hes done every single car iv owned and thats quite a few
never had a prob with him
load of bull
every car front has got some degree of tint to the glass 30% will put any car over
but its the time the place to get caught
sometimes its a warning and fine
sometimes a probition notice and fine to make sure you get them off
and then sometimes its a probo fine and 3 points per side
so its a gamble that i dont take anymore.
So the 'untinted' glass is in fact tinted regardless?
Definitely do don't look very tinted before I got them put on as I didn't want to make it illegal.
Thankfully here in Aberdeen the cops are pretty lax about things like borderline tints, might be different if it was down South where I'd heard they're more strict. :/
yep all glass has got a tint to it
the real rule about fronts is no tint
down here south yorkshire and south wales are ****s for it
I know exactly what you mean about the rear window elements here is a close up they don't look too bad.
The glass on my current A4 does have a very low tint in it all round already so its not completely clear glass to start with.
This may be a stupid question but does the tinting on the rear window have to go on the inside as this is what causes the effect on the heater lines and this is only on the inside ??
front screen 74% light through
side front 70% light through
99% of cars have a slight tint all round from factory
so unless you have a tint man to check the factory tint you will go over
iv used in the past 17% on front allowing around 13% for the factory tint and still got a fine
its all on the inside
yeah thats discounted for the rears from pepe
but id never pay that much
No, they just removed all the panels and rear self to get to the glass. wasn't sure at first, but they showed me a A5 they did the week before and it looked good. Just went with it and was well pleased with the outcome.
She's done....... Dark Smoke
15% Rear and 50% front is what I have on my A4, the combination blends in nice IMO.
Looks good Mac, especially against the white of the (new) car.
Looks good mate!:icon_thumright:
I can only get quotes of near £300 for doing the rear on mine, anyone know anyone cheaper in the south (reading)?
I had no idea it was that expensive in the UK. What about legislation? Do have to pay anything to make legalize it?
Got my car done over the weekend. Dark smoke at back and light smoke at the front. Will put some photos up tomorrow.
I like .... my car is whit also so its good to see what it would look like .. can I have a close up of the rear window ??
No legislation cost, just seems expensive down here vs that you guys are paying elsewhere...
Noticed that a lot of people here saying dark smoke on the back, light smoke on the fronts.
Does putting light smoke on the front push it over the legal limit?
Was thinking of getting it done but now that it's not quite legal... hmm...
Front window needs 70% light coming through.
Back no limit.
So I guess unless you are sure with the % through the front then you risk being fined.
first time you would get a fine and rip it off at road side
or fine and probition notice
its a risk but 1000's get away with it
its normaly traffic that do you not the normal plod
Found a place to do it for £200 so looks like I'll be doing mine soon then
Be cheaper to drive up here and have them done lol no but really is that the cheapest you can get them done down there that sounds like a lot just for rears doing...
That's good, in Portugal we need to pay o legalize them and it costs as much as installing them. 250â¬
Afraid so, the joys of living in the south
Ouch, that sucks
That's also without vat as this guy isn't vat registered...so not cheap, I looked at it a few years back and couldn't find anything less than £250+ vat then...
