Well I have been having trouble with oil dripping on to the exhaust mainfold recently and think now it has been tracked down to gaskets on the timing chain tensioning device. The Audi main dealer changing these is as big as doing a timing chain and want 5 hours labour at 70 pounds per hour. I perhaps could cope with this if the chain needed doing but as the last owner only had it done 3k ago I need another way out.

I am a very compitant mechanic but would like a procedure list/instructions on how to do this myself as there is sure to be hidden pitfalls. Does anyone know of a workshop manual for the 2.8 V6 quattro 30v, or the CD's that are on ebay maybe? Failing that how about an Audi / VW mechanic in the derby area that wants to earn some pocket money? or even an x VAG mechanic in the derby area.

Any advice would be great.
