throttle body sensor?

Hey guys, just noticed on my car a connector plug hanging freely in the bay, had a quick mooch and seems it came from the tb. Now i presume this is for some kind of a sensor but what exactly does it do? Cheers

If it's the one i'm thinking off it'll be the air intake temp sensor bud

2 pin? just after throttle body?

yeah 2 pin to the side of the tb not the inlet!!, could this being unplugged be the reason my car failed the emissions {idle speed test} on mot?

unlikely.. not sure what ecu does when air temp is off..
