thinking of buying mk5 golf

Hi,im thinking of buying a new shape golf (mk5) early january.
The model i want to buy is the GT-TDI.
Anything i need to look out for ?
Ive heard the 2.0 tdi unit has a lot of issues,dont know how true this is?

They still hold the money as previos golf or not?

I also have another car in mind the AUDI A3 TDI SPORT.

Which one would you say is the better of the 2 ?
the vw in my opinion is better looking

i have around 6500 to spend (at the moment) mileage is unimportant.

a3 sport as you'll appreciate the interior alot & as your gonna be in it not sitting on the bonnet admiring the car this has to be a serious consideration IMHO

depends what you want, i've owned both but sold the golf as I found it uncomfortable, for me the A3 looks better but the Golf was a better drivers car if that can be said about diesel ! both are noisey engines and you will struggle to find a nice A3 for that money you might even struggle with a golf too.
