Thermostat location AGU

    Anyone tell me where the thermostat is located? I really need to change it as the car doesnt warm up when driving.

    It's really not, the bottom bolt is in an arse of a spot and whatever you do don't drop it! Also, get a new dipstick tube beforehand, you almost certainly will break it.

    its a ballache lol!
    took me 90mins to get the bottom bolt back in,
    if i had to do it again, i'd spend 10mins to take the inlet manifold off, would make it 1million times easier.

    good advice on the dipstick too.

    and if you want to drain your coolant so you dont lose it, use the drain tap on the bottom right of the radiator (as you look at it from the front)

    Just fitted a new thermostat on mind tonight in about 40mins.

    Yes the bottom bolt is a pain, but best way is to use allen keys. You'll need one short one and one long reach one with the ball on the end of it. Short one to crack the seal then start using the ball end of the long reach one. When you get close to the end of the thread use a magnetic pick up tool so you don't drop it!

    I done mine in about 30 mins, no problems at all with 1/4" drive snap on socket set.

    changed it today, wasn't a hard job at all, like 20 minutes or so. Anyway, now im having a bugger of a problem getting the temp to set at 90, was at 100 before and got the 3 warning beeps. Are there any bleed points for the system?

    I had the same problem as you. I found getting to the thermostat easy but I had the little knuckle/elbow socket joints for my ratchet. After change my state I had no trouble with bleeding out the system and it's run like a dream ever since.

    finally done it, kept turning it on, it sucked all the water from the expansion tank, filled it back up and repeat a few times. Only thing is now, my system is 100% water, but its not cold enough to freeze over. I'll add some anti freeze too it tomorrow.
