yeah i wouldnt have minded a stealthy install but it means keeping the pancake pipe which isnt really an option for me! lol

ive pretty much trawled the whole internet in search of options for a3 intercoolers and to say they are limited is an understatement!! hense why i just bit my lip and went for the 2.5" pipework kit that ive got and just had the pipes visible in the bumper lol

Might just ditch the fogs, can't remember the last time I used them anyway.

I might have to get the pipes done in black though, as the chrome is a bit OTT in my opinion.

Had the bumper off to put the new grill on the car yesterday, and I can't believe how small the intercooler is! The FMIC was bumped up the list of things to do. Then, driving night before last, the traction light came on, and stayed on. Down to the garage for a diagnostic and £10 later, I've got a steering angle sensor fault. VAGCOM bumped to the top of the list!

Morning mate, it's the resident TQS Owners Thread gate crasher ;)

If you know someone local with VCDS there is a way to reset the steering angle sensor. S3 Baby did it to his last week and the light hasn't come back.

    Mooorning :)

I bumped an old thread regarding the issue and S3Baby sent me the link, but living where I do,the bumhole of nowhere, when it comes to cars (or anything really) I have to travel. The nearest VCDS member who is on the map is 72.7 miles away from me!

Nige says he can get the lead out to me by tomorrow morning, and hopefully by tomorrow night it'll either be sorted or I'll have started a million threads on here starting with 'How do you do this on VCDS' and thrown my laptop out the top window :lmfao:

Nice profile pic change by the way! Any more news from S3baby regarding the 20+ price on the Haldex controllers?

I'll chase him up. We're both spending money on our cars like its going out of fashion so the Haldex group buy is going to cripple me. I've just added road legal slicks to my list too!

Just purchased VCDS, any thing that should be done straight away mate? The spending on mine has gone nuts recently as well, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Just do a full scan when you get it. Then you can start enabling cool features like alarm beeping when arming and auto locking doors ;)

I hate auto locking doors! Any good sites with VCDS codes etc.. Not the fault codes, the messing around with things codes.

The main site that you need to bookmark is Ross-Tech: Home

this has procedures and fault codes and everything you need.

Also get reading through the VCDS forum on here. Most stuff has been done before so it'll be in a thread somewhere.

Only the needles illuminate when the ignition is on then the back lights come on with the headlights.

Still getting to terms with VCDS. Know how to scan the car, but how do you go about changing things, like the bleep when you lock the car etc?

Also, didn't get the wheels I was after, so I'm going to be putting some new tyres on the A3 instead

Do a search mate there should be threads on it. Also do a google search for "basecode" this little tool will help you. I think someone posted up the link on here last week.

Conti's have stopped the annoying drumming I had from the front end, car now drives silently.

Any one got any ideas as to why, even after having my tracking done, the steering wheel still sits off centre?

Might be another job for next week then mate! You reckon the TIP could be done while we're there then, or do you think it would look a bit dodgy?

Shame about the sump, did you get any pics of the damage/pothole that caused it?

That'll be why you smashed the sump to bits then! Are there any good roads around you (no speed camera's/not a lot of traffic/few twisties), to try the 2 out?

just a quick 1 wrestle if you look at this pic where the fpr is there is a small black pipe that comes from the tip this is the pipe i was on about that i disconected as it was part of the pcv system i do have to empty tubes under the inlet manifold should this go to the one that is closest to the battery as the other one is behind the oil dipstick which you just block off? as i blocked both them off i left this pipe unblocked i may connect it to the the bit under the manifold that is closest to the battery side.
