I was always told that using a good panel filter ( such as a cotton green item ) was the best option for my car, But i was thinking is this the case? Can anything else be done? Has anybody tried making something like a cold air intake pipe that moves a cone filter down behind the bumper such as those used on a mk4 golf? I have a front mount intercooler so the side mount coolers have been removed Fitting a cone filter in place of the standard air box means the hot air from the engine is sucked up by the filter robbing the engine of power... Is the cotton green panel filter the best option? I finaly decided on this when a tuner said "the leon cupra R's in the racing series use a standard air box... if its good enough for a race car its good enough for a hybridised road car" Is this the case or do rules restrict the air intake on those cars???
