Gutted! After a year and a half of fun in my S3, the time came to sell it, I needed something bigger and a little more economical, so I went for a Octavia VRs (tdi) 57 plate. Lovely car, in the blue. 2 weeks down the line, it wouldn’t start. Not to bore you with the details, it was an injector and the wiring loom bust. £900 and counting, they have found more problems with the wiring loom. No Warranty, and I was going to take out a Skoda extended one the week before, that would have covered it.

Anyway, if you want a S3, it’s for sale. check the classifieds Windge over!

Seems to be a common problem with the injectors on the 2.0 TDI unit from VAG, I was doing some research on B6 Passats with the intention of buying one, and this kept popping up! So I've decided to keep my ever reliable B5 Passat.

My mate is on his second octy at the moment and this does seem a common issue.
He bought the loom from skoda and got his mech to fit it.
less than a ton all in, he says.

He wanted the Vrs but worked out better getting a 140 PD engined octy and getting it remapped.
    almost gets more extras.

It's the metering injector that costs the huge £450 and is only available from Audi IIRC
