    hi there,
    i have just bought a new temp sender for my 1997 18t avant.{green one}
    The one i had on the car is a blue one with square connector and the one that has just arrived is the green one with a different connector that is highly recomended on here in several posts.
    Could anyone tell me if they are suppose to be a straight swop or do i have to change the plug conector to get it to fit?
    or is it a matter of running wires over to the new one.
    any help would be greatful as im going to change the rad that is leaking today and im going to do the oil/filter and cooler at the same time.{after flushing everything out}

    kindest regards any thnks in advance
    Karl

    Karl, the sender should be the same as the one you have except green. If it has a "D" shaped connector, then you have the one for a later car.

    nah you need to either get and solder in the newer style plug, or get the older style sensor
