My 2001 S3 (223g CO2) as off the first of April will cost £310 to tax (currently £210) I spoke to the DVLA and they said that if I wanted I could send my current tax disc in to them for a refund (v14 form) they use the post mark to determine how many months refund you get back and you only get full months refunded. So I'd send mine in to them on the 28/29th of February and then go down to the post office and buy another disc. I expect you'd lose a months tax in the process but I'll still save £80ish so probably worth doing.
