surging when i put foot down why ?

while accellarating through the gears the engine surges as if starved of fuel or to much air , worried in case it is injectors ? car has only done 33,000 57 plate ,s-line 170 qauttro 2:0 tdi .

My old 140 used to do this. Trip to audi, new fuel filter and all fixed. Easy to change. Replaced it in the car park.
