Thats me not using awesome for my 4 WA then.
im emailing the above info and pics. they can solve it. because im sick of it. i've trusted them reluctantly twice.
all i wanted was the best most accurate alignment using modern laser machines, they fit the bill at the time.
im unsure of my rights and what to expect tbh, i've never had a situation like this before
any tips on how to go about this id be grateful
Mate you are not mr lucky right now! Unfortunately I have no idea what the settings are on my alignment or I'd share them with you. I went to my local VAG garage where they also race in a golf race series and just asked them to align it. The tyres that were on the S4 rims had perfect wear across all 4 of them and they'd been on the car for a year plus they weren't new when I got hold of them.
I've only used Falkens once myself but as far as I could remember they tend to wear down a lot faster then most tyres but 3 months is ludicrous.
i had a good road friendly setup in mind and i wrote it down when i took it them, they agreed it would be good.
then left the toe like that and assured me it would be ok.
parallel toe front and rear is what i want and what it SHOULD be!
im waiting for dave to mention 'fkn trailing arm bushes' lol

source is still unknown, i have a close eye on the oil level.

It must have been some kind of spillage from you removing the catch can you massive plum.
pffft, maybe. who knows, i kinda hoped for something catastrophic so id have an excuse to rebuild the *****, ah well.
so i've had a response from awesomegti.
as expected there is various excuses and off topic statements regarding the cars components, the mileage, the way i drive etc.
but what they dont seem to understand is that the tyre wear i've experienced is not normal, and is due to these rear toe in settings that they believe are 'minimal' and 'not out by much'
i've responded accordingly, explaining how no matter how i was to drive in the 25mile commute i have, there is no circumstance that tyres should wear as such. and clearly, rear toe in is the cause. a setting i was assured is ok, and wouldnt cause said issues.
bottom line, i am sick of buying tyres because of their poor service
more e-mails have been exchanged.
they seem convinced this is a hardware issue.
with the vast amount of cars with poly bushes, AP coilovers, and s3daves tie bars, i cant see that being a possibility.
they will look over my car at some point in the near future, il gladly let them check it for faults.
they need to realise that .45 minutes above the specified max of toe in isnt right.
its as simple as that in my eyes.
and even if there was a hardware issue, this should have been highlighted suring the service and brought to my attention, because they should have realised there is a problem somewhere.
Good luck getting it sorted, try getting past the people on the first line desk, I've sorted issues with awesome by doing that. If all else fails then post on their Facebook wall, that soon gets their attention!

its just a case of them realising whats wrong and why, followed by them sorting the problem.
maximum total allowable toe of 0.4Â° and you have 1.7Â° and its not much out? ....... only 425% out i guess....not bad!?
even more is you say that the total toe in should be about 0.25Â°, then its 680% out....
according to them its not degrees, its minutes. but seeing as theres only 60 minutes in a revolution as opposed to 360 degrees, that makes it even worse!
mmm so the min and max limits for total toe are from 0.1' to 0.4'? That is a tiny window - 0.3 minutes or 20 seconds, 20"
Unless of course they mean 0Â°10' to 0Â°40', but then they have your final total toe as 1Â°70'?.. there are only 60 minutes in a degree so it should read 2Â°10'?
also 85' (1Â°25') toe-in each side adds up to a total toe-in of 2Â°50' whereas they have just done 0.85x2 = 1.7 which is treating it like decimal degrees
might do some research into what it might mean and how they've measured it. i've just been told its minutes not degrees.
i was wondering if they said it was minutes not degrees to make the absolute error appear smaller, either way its clear your rear tyre wear is abnormal and highly likely to be caused by your rear wheels spinning in a plane not aligned with the direction of travel... good luck getting it all sorted

Is this gasket for the K04 with 3" downpipe? As just wrongly ordered one and it was smaller at 2.5?

im fitting it soon, unsure exactly when.
but im not looking forward to doing it, but im sure il be more than happy with the results
Regarding Awesome and their wheel alignment skills, I have sacked them off completely.
After 4 wheel alignments, all different readings, they still couldnt tell my why my car pulls to the left.
I wouldn't let Awesome touch my car with a bargepole after the poor fobbing off service I received from them.
I know of couple of decent places for 4WA. Audi in Trafford recently did a very good job on mine.
There is also National Tyres in Altrincham who have a fulll geometry computer alignment system, not just the laser alignment things.
Finally http://www.abpmotorsport.co.uk/they specialise in Honda but know there stuff when setting up geometry and wheel alignment.
i know of others that have the same view of them.
shame, with both our cars, by addressing problems and noticing these things themselves they can create more work for themselves = more money for them and more respect from us for taking good care of our motors.
il save my final conclusion on all this till i've been to see them though. im sure they will be helpful and want to rid themselves of me lol.

after the usual hacking of the crash bar, you should want to set the height of your cooler:
now with my cooler, with its welded on pipes i hit this snag:
the cooler wasnt at the height i wanted at this point, and the pipe was clearly going to foul this chassis leg/towing eye, especially with silicone on it.
now most intercooler installs the drivers side pipe will be angled down slightly to avoid this, but mine had been welded on straight (no fault of the welder, there was no car to mock it up to), so my cooler would have to be fitted lower than some to accomodate this issue.
a pursuader soon had it sorted:

now i mocked my silicone hoses up:
very neat and tidy, i was impressed with how it came out.
my next issue was that because my cooler couldnt be mounted as high as some, the brackets supplied were a little too big. so off to have them modified. where the comment was made, 'who made these? they cant half fkn weld' icon_thumright:dave)
once the brakets were shortened a tad i was back home bolting it up.

and now to get the bumper on.
looking at it and how tidy it was and how snug the cooler fit etc, i thought 'ahhh this is gonna fit without much if any cutting'
i was wrong
as you can see, it doesnt need a great deal, just a bit off the grills and around the grills on the inside. i did make a start but im leaving the rest till tomoro as my mate has the perfect tool to do some fine detailed trimming.
so i've left it like this till then
when fitting mine, i just wanted it mounted as high as possible really, so that the cooler would clear the bottom of the bumper, i didnt want it so low it'd be touching the bumper and be vulnerable.
i had no idea where the pipes would sit in the bumper, but where it is is fine by me.
its clear this 63mm welded pipe silution is a good one for keeping the fogs, and it looks tidy.
dani, how on earth you, or anyone else for that matter have kept the fogs with 3 inch silicone reducers is beyond me! lol. well done.
get some pics up of yours. i know there is plenty done so far but more the better.

If i can put a drink down for longer enough ill upload the pics lol, its very tight mate, had todo alot of cutting.
I've just bought some led fogs to replace the stock ones, they are only 1ch ish deep all in and pretty much a direct fit into the grill. That was running the larger 76mm silicone, no way I would have got stock fogs in there, just not enough room.
Beach how could you not retain the fogs? I have and it was quite easy, the fog light area only needed minimum trimming!!
Not sure, to be honest, not seen any others in the flesh so not got anything to compare it with. Also the LEDs ment I could route the pipe work how I want and didn't mean I had cut too much. The led lights where only £10 ish anyway so seemed the less hassle way of doin it. I also dropped 1 fog and it smashed, plus I can say I have upgraded led fog lights when actually I just took the easy option, think that classes me as a pikey they look good though and you wouldn't notice except for the brighter whiter light so I'm happy
unfortunately the 3 inch outlets on core push the grills after as much trimming as possible, i did only have to trim this area though.
a solution would have been to maybe knock the front of that 3inch inlet inward a tad before welding, but thats out the question now.
I am VERY happy with this.
